What is Performance Marketing?

Performance Marketing is all about ACTION, baby. We need to see a lead, a sale or even a click to count a “performance”. None of that ivory tower, woo-woo branding shenanigans for us. That high-concept, owning a place in the consumer’s mind stuff, lacks the down-to-earth results of an email generated Snuggie sale.

In other words, performance marketing is direct marketing for the Internet. Advertisers, folks with products to sell, connect with publishers, folks with web traffic or email lists, in hopes of a win-win situation. If you’ve ever pre-paid for an advertisement only to get crummy results, paying only for what converts can be very attractive.
